The real estate industry is full of websites, but not all are created equal. Some websites are worth a trip to the bathroom, while others are so bad that you’d rather watch paint dry than finish scrolling through their pages. While there’s nothing wrong with being boring as long as your site is organized and easy to navigate, what if you could give your buyers and sellers a reason to want to go on your website?

For many years, real estate agents have talked about leads. Leads are important. We get that! However, we must get back to the basics and clearly understand how we get leads. Traffic is key. Traffic equals leads. Everyone tries to make it more than what it is. Just having a website alone is not going to make you money. As a realtor, 80% of your job is to market yourself and get exposure. Exposure is key in this industry.

“ Traffic is key. Traffic equals leads.”

The challenge for most real estate agents is that many techs and marketing companies are selling agents on the big old dream. So we’ll create your website, relax, grab your coffee and let your website do its magic. Now that’s 100% bull!

Read on, and I’ll fill you in with some of the secrets that other companies don’t want you to know about.

30-60% of the people searching are in the research phase and don’t have the intent to purchase.

The research phase is when buyers and sellers are on their phones, so you want to ensure that you’re capturing their attention too.

This phase is when people are looking for information about a product or service, but they don’t have any real intention of buying right now. This means it’s an ideal opportunity for getting your message across! If you can show them how your service helps them in some way, this could incentivize them to take action.

Target intent keywords and geographic terms to capture more qualified traffic

Targeting intent keywords and geographic terms is essential. However, it’s also an important part of your strategy to increase the number of quality visitors to your website, which means you need to find different ways to get them there.

  • Intent keyword: An intent keyword is a specific word or phrase that describes what a visitor wants from your website. For example, if someone types in “property for sale in Los Angeles” into a Google search, they will see results from millions of websites offering properties for sale in Los Angeles, such as [INSERT ADDRESS]. These are great opportunities because they allow you to tap into the interest level of specific people who have expressed interest in learning about where-to-find properties in Los Angeles.
  • Geographic term: A geographic term refers specifically to one location instead than multiple locations; therefore, it indicates where exactly these people live or want to live rather than where they work or study, etc…

SEO is a long-term strategy that you should plan for at least a year before expecting results

SEO is the long-term plan to get more business from referrals. That’s like when you got into real estate, and the goal was to have all your business come from referrals. It’s not something you can do overnight, but it can be very effective if you take the time to plan and implement your strategy correctly.

SEO is all about optimizing your website’s keywords, so they show up in search engine results, like Google or Bing. When people are searching, they want to see content related to what they were searching for.

It takes time to build trust with Google and other search engines.

We all know by now that SEO is a long-term strategy. It takes time to build trust with Google and other search engines. To have your website rank better in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages), you need to have good content on your site that attracts visitors who can find what they’re looking for.

So, how do you get there?

Quality content will help your site rank on search engines as well as help your customer’s education level.

  • Your content is the first thing visitors see when they land on your site. It’s also what keeps them coming back for more.
  • Good quality content will help you rank higher in search engines than competitors who don’t have it, attracting more traffic.
  • If you want to keep customers engaged, provide them with something educational or entertaining—but make sure that your content isn’t just buzzwords that no one understands (and therefore can’t be trusted).

SEO that is too focused on ranking can cause you to miss opportunities to convert traffic into leads.

Do not expect to just build your SEO on a whim or to see results immediately. You need to be patient and consistent with your efforts, especially if you want to get better at it over time rather than jump into things without a plan.

For example: if you’re trying to rank in Google for “best real estate agent in Los Angeles,” then it would make sense for SEO experts like Agent Elite (who are actually real) who have been studying this topic for decades—spending weeks or even months researching various factors such as buying patterns, demographics, and population density around California before coming up with an actionable strategy that could potentially lead us toward success…or at least a closer proximity toward achieving our goal!

SEO can help drive valuable traffic, but it’s not a quick fix or an overnight solution.

If you’re looking for an easy way to increase your website traffic, don’t expect Google rankings to magically make more customers come to your site. It’s probably going to take some time—and patience—for your business’s search engine optimization efforts to pay off with increased sales leads and conversions on the other end of those clicks! SEO is a long-term strategy that you should plan for at least a year before expecting results. SEO is not a quick fix or an overnight solution.
